Grays Harbor College Athletics

A basketball standout at Aberdeen High School, Fuhrer was a two-year starter in the sport for the Chokers during the 1973-74 and 1974-75 seasons. He was a key member of a team that finished third in the Northwest Junior College tournament in 1974 and earned all-conference recognition both seasons. Fuhrer went on to start for two years at Western Washington State College and led the Nation, among small-college players, in free-throw percentage as a senior. He received honorable mention recognition on the NAIA All-American team that season.
