Grays Harbor College Athletics

The 1983-84 Choker Men's Basketball Team played an outstanding season, taking second place in the NWAACC final tournament with a loss to Skagit Valley College. Coach Jim Mossel was in his second year at the college, assisted by Mark Wells. In the NWAACC tournament, they beat Edmonds Community College in the first round and Chemeketa in the second. Rick Adelman was coaching Chemeketa that year; he later went on to coach in the NBA for many years. The GHC team posted only one league loss that year and three total losses for the season.

Jay Brewer of Hoquiam was team MVP. Other Choker players included Jeff Bamer, Bubba Banks, Jon Campbell, Ken Coker, Ken Furu, Brian Lockhart, Dale Nehler, Marvin Prince and Winford Suell.
