The Chokers are on the road again! The Chokers Baseball team would like to welcome all of those "Choker Nation" supporters to make the trek over to Moses Lake this weekend where the Chokers are set to face Big Bend Community College On Saturday at 1pm and 4pm, and again on Sunday at 11am and 2pm. Â
The Chokers are excited to get back on the field after a tough weekend series last weekend where they saw a variety of "unlikely circumstances" happen. After a great week of practice and hard work and dedication by the players...it is only a matter of time before they start seeing the hard work come to fruition. So far on the season, the Chokers are being led by Juan Navarrete at the plate and in the field. He is boasting a .324 average with 3 doubles, and a perfect fielding percentage in 10 games played. Michael Jarvis has stepped into his role and is starting to deliver as well. Currently hitting .300 on the season...Michael was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles in the final game of last weekend. Â
The Choker pitching staff got off to a tough start as well, but solid outings by Johnny Schmidt (1IP, 3K's), and Staley Gilmore (3IP, 3K's, 2H) in last weekends series against Olympic College, have the change in results looking even more appealing. Nursing a small ankle sprain over the last 2 weeks, Chokers Ace-Lefty, Andrew Snyder is back to feeling 100%, and will be back at it this weekend. Â
All in all, the Chokers are set for a breakout....and this just might be the weekend! Come catch us in action in Moses Lake, WA at Big Bend CC.
See ya there!
GO CHOKERS!
