Hoquiam, WA - Grays Harbor opened Saturday's doubleheader against Pierce with a 12-0 loss in eight innings at Olympic Stadium in Hoquiam. The Chokers (3-3 overall) and the Raiders (2-4) battled in a pitcher's duel early on as Chokers starter Trevor Barth and Pierce's Paker Goin kept the opposing offenses scoreless through the first four innings. But Barth ran into trouble in the fifth as Pierce scored five runs to take the lead. Pierce would add a run in the sixth and another six runs in the seventh to pick up the win. Grays Harbor center fielder Preston Vine's single in the third inning was the only hit of the game for Grays Harbor as Going allowed one hit and two walks, while striking out six in throwing a complete game, one-hit shutout.Barth took the loss, allowing six earned runs on four hits and five walks with four strikeouts.
Grays Harbor 9, Pierce 4
After being shut out in Game 1, Grays Harbor responded with a seven run first inning en route to a seven-inning victory in the nightcap against Pierce College. GHC used five two-out, RBI singles to take a 7-0 lead after one inning. Clay Cleveringa, Cameron Denny, Alex Carrillo, Caleb Berry and Aidan McMurdo each singled to drive in runs in the inning, with Carrillo and McMurdo's hits scoring two runs each.
Pierce scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning but would get no closer, as McMurdo drove in his third run of the game with a single in the bottom half of the inning with each team scoring a run in the sixth, with Grays Harbor's Zach Graham driving in former Elma Eagle Tysen Richardson with a single to make it a 9-4 game.
Grays Harbor starting pitcher Luke Stutesman earned the win, allowing three runs (none earned) on three hits with five walks and eight strikeouts in five innings pitched.Logan Jones pitched the final two innings in relief for the Chokers, allowing an earned run on three hits with two strikeouts.

Grays Harbor 10, Tacoma 5
The Chokers handed Tacoma its first loss of the early season, scoring six runs in the first inning en route to victory in the first game of a Sunday doubleheader Sunday at Olympic Stadium. Down 2-0 after a half-inning, the Chokers scored six runs in the bottom of the first on just one hit, capitalizing on two Titan errors and erratic pitching by Tacoma starter Dyson Johnson. Grays Harbor leadoff hitter Preston Vine reached on an error and, after back-to-back hit batsmen, scored on Nolan Baugher's single that also scored Aidan McMurdo to tie the game at 2-all. After Chase Cleveringa walked, Zach Graham reached on an error that scored Peyton Brock and Baugher. Cameron Denny followed with a fielder's choice ground out that scored Cleveringa.
With two outs, Caleb Berry walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch, which chased Johnson from the game after just two-thirds of an inning pitched. Graham scored the Chokers' sixth run of the inning on a wild pitch from Titan reliever Ben Wallen. The two teams traded runs in the fourth, with Baugher getting his second RBI single of the game in the frame, before Grays Harbor put away the game away with three runs in the bottom of the sixth, scoring runs on a Brock sacrifice fly followed by a two-run single from Cleveringa.
Tacoma scored a pair of runs on a sac fly and RBI single in the eighth to complete the scoring. Grays Harbor starter Colin Hoover got the win, allowing three earned runs on four hits and five walks with three strikeouts in five innings pitched. Ty Preece picked up the save for the Chokers, allowing two earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts and a walk in four innings of relief.

Grays Harbor split its third consecutive doubleheader to start the season after falling to Tacoma in the Sunday nightcap. Grays Harbor took a 1-0 lead on a Cameron Denny fielder's choice in the bottom of the second inning, and Choker starting pitcher Tyler Garcia held Tacoma scoreless through six innings. Tacoma took a 2-1 lead when Hunter Jenkins hit a two-out, two-run double off Garcia.
Titan reliever Kazuya Kojima came in for Tacoma starter Seti Manase and struck out the side in the bottom of the seventh to end the game.The Chokers managed just two hits off Manase, who allowed one earned run on two hits, two walks and six strikeouts in six innings pitched. Nolan Baugher (1-3, R) and Chase Cleveringa (1-3) were the only two Chokers with a base hit off Manase. Garcia was the hard-luck loser, allowing two earned runs on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts in a complete-game performance.
