8Aberdeen, WA - After being on the road all season the Choker Baseball team was able to play their final doubleheader at home. Grays Harbor split their weekend series with Pierce College, dropping game one 5-4 and then won the finale 6-1.
The team finished with a program-best 18 win season, making it back to back seasons of most wins in program history.
In the first game the Chokers took a 4-0 lead going into the 8th inning with the help of Ian Winterhalder and Preston Vine. Winterhalder went 3 for 5 with 3 RBI's and a run. Vine went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Pierce clawed back into the game with a 5 run 8th inning that the Chokers were unable to overcome, thus dropping game one.
In the second game, Pierce scored first with a run at the top of the second inning. The Chokers responded with 3 runs at the bottom of the inning gaining the lead that they would not relinquish. The Chokers added three runs in the fourth and tacked on one more in the sixth.
The Choker pitching staff shout down Pierce by allowing just 2 hits with the help of Ian Winterhalder, Aiden McCarthy, Wyatt Smith, Jaden Anderson, and Oliver Lang.
Aidan McMurdo went 3 for 3 with 4 RBI's and 2 runs to lead the Choker offense.
