Chokers drop both games vs LCC at home.

The Grays Harbor Chokers played two great games on Wednesday, but ultimately fell short in both games to a great Lower Columbia College team.  The first game was the same story as last time the Chokers took on the Red Devils as the score was neck and neck most of the game.  The Red Devils struck first in the 3rd inning and the Chokers just couldn't answer despite multiple innings with runners in scoring position.  The Red Devils tacked on one more run in the 6th inning to take a 2-0 lead, hoping that would be enough.  The Chokers could score in the bottom of the 6th and LCC capitalized by plating 6 more runs in the top of the 7th, sealing the victory.  The Chokers did not give up and did score 1 run in the bottom of the 7th, but it wasn't enough, losing the first game 1-8.  Head Coach Jake White said after the games, "The 8-1 loss on paper does not represent the game itself.  These young ladies played their hearts out and while we ended up losing this one, it was either team's game every inning.  I truly believe that if we could have help them at 2 runs going into the 7th inning, we walk that game off with the win."  

Game 2 was a bit different story as the Chokers dropped this one 1-11.  The Chokers lone run scored was a solo line drive that exited the yard in a hurry off the powerful bat of Kaitlyn Doucette in the 3rd inning.  This was 1 of only 3 hits the Chokers managed to get off of the hard-throwing pitcher LCC put in the circle for this one.  Carron Blood had a double down the right field line and Lexie Cudaback singled through the 5/6 hole.  "Our team is playing great right now.  I think if we keep the momentum we have and the confidence we have as we go into the second half of the season, we will come out of it with a good amount of wins and a spot in the conference tournament."  Said Coach White.  

The Chokers head to Clackamas, OR this weekend to take on Clackamas CC at their place Saturday at noon!
