IAberdeen, WA - The women's team opened their dual meet season with a victory over Big Bend Community College.  Ceci Saavedra started off the evening with a quick inside drag takedown to a turn to go up 4-0. Both wrestlers then traded points and Ceci was up 6-4 at the end of the first round.  Saavedra was able to finish strong and out distance Roger's for a 13-8 victory. The Lady Chokers continued to roll with strong victories from Lesly Baires and Julian Yates who didn't allow a point.  The Chokers finished the dual with a bruising pin by freshman Sila Fotu. Fotu shot a mid range power double leg which took her opponent directly to her back for the fall. First year coach Kevin Pine said, "The team came out aggressively and was able to dictate the pace of the match, a lesson we experienced in Canada last weekend." 

The team travels to Forest Grove, OR to compete in the Mike Clock Open tomorrow.
