San Juan, Puerto Rico - Grays Harbor wrestlers are bringing home a record 7 All-Americans from this years championship. The team was led by
Reneah Ureste's title at 191lbs. Ureste made quick work of her finals opponent Melissa Moore of Texas Tech University with a snap down to a front head lock and recorded the fall in :25 seconds. The Chokers other finalist,
Kali Hood (235) dropped her match to the returning national champion, Katie Moore of Stony Brook University by fall in 4:38.
Third place finishers for the Chokers include 116 lbs
Aleyda Rodriguez (Sunnyside HS), 170
Katie Gakin (Aberdeen HS), 191
Megan Webster (Post Falls HS, ID), and 235 JoJera Dodge of Kirtland HS, NM.
Aliya Hammons (Stanwood HS) wrestling at 109 finished in 4th place.
In the consolation championship matches Rodriguez defeated Hannah Ung of Northeastern University with a first round pin off a head and arm throw to claim 3rd place.
Megan Webster came back and avenged her loss early in the tournament over Trinity Robinson of Ottawa University to take 3rd.
Katie Gakin rebounded from her semi final loss to take out the #1 seed Maile Ka-Ahanui of Liberty University with a 2nd round pin and JoJera Dodge recorded a first round pin at 2:01 over #3 seed Jada Robinson of Florida A&M. Hammons dropped her match to nemisis Griselda Cueves of Western Washington University for 4th.
The Chokers were recognized at the conclusion of the finals for having the top men's and women's wrestling program in the country with the presentation of the Collegiate Cup. The NCWA has a season long running score that recognizes the top overall male and female programs in the country. Points are awarded based on team placings at the National and Regional Duals as well as the National Championships. Liberty University has consistently won the award with the Chokers coming in 2nd and 3rd the last two championships. It was a close race again this year but the Chokers were able clinch the title with the men's team 9th place finish and the women's team taking 2nd in the respective ddivisions.The victory was clinched with Gakin's victory over her Liberty opponent in her final match.

Reneah Ureste were also recognized for their work in classroom by being awarded Academic All Americans.
