Aberdeen, WA – November 18th, 2024. The Grays Harbor College Men's Basketball team returned home from opening weekend at the Treasure Valley College Tournament this past weekend with a win and great momentum for the start of the 2024-25 season.
"We went up against two of the top NWAC teams in our first two games of the weekend, and came together to play a great game on Sunday and finish the weekend with a win," said Men's Basketball coach
Blake Cleveringa. "It's a good start to the season, and I'm excited to see where we go from here."
Grays Harbor finished strong with a decisive 96-58 win over the Multnomah University JV team on Sunday, showing the kind of resilience and determination that they hope to carry forward this season.
The standout players of the weekend were
Prashant Chouhan and
Josh Adamsel Jr., both of which were named Players of the Game. Chouhan, a freshman forward, posted a double-double in each of the first two games and was a key force in the team's rebounding effort. Adamsel Jr., a returning GHC player, provided steady leadership on the court and was a major contributor to the team's win on Sunday.
"It's been great to see Prashant's growth this early in the season," said Cleveringa. "He's been consistent and strong for us so far. Josh has also stepped into a leadership role well, and it's clear that he's bringing our other players along with him. We have a lot of new faces this year, but the returners have done a great job in helping the younger guys get acclimated to our program," Cleveringa added. "We're excited about the culture we are creating, and we're looking forward to what the rest of this season holds."
Grays Harbor College Men's Basketball will look to build on this experience as they prepare for the next stretch of games. Their first home game, featuring a White Out theme, will take place on December 1st at 2:00 PM. Grays Harbor fans can expect a competitive and exciting season ahead as the team continues to grow and develop.
