The Chokers took down the Highline Thunderbirds on Wednesday night in front of a packed house!

The Chokers started out slow after the tip going down quickly after an 11-2 run by the Thunderbirds right out of the gate.  This didn't affect the Chokers at all and they fought and climbed their way back up, taking a 2-point lead with just over 10 minutes to go in the first half, backed by a short jumper made good by Josh Adamsel Jr.  The Chokers held that lead for the rest of the half, ending up 37-34 going into the break, thanks to Adamsel Jr. and Keon Dewalt who both led all 1st half scorers with 14 and 12 respectively.  

The second half story was mostly the same as the first half, with the Chokers starting off slow, losing their lead backed by a 9-2 run by the Thunderbirds.  The Thunderbirds held tough and as much as the Chokers fought, they couldn't get back the lead for most of the half. That was until the Chokers were down by 1 just under the 6 minute mark left in the first half and Dewalt came up huge draining a clutch 3-pointer from the corner to take the lead 66-64.  JT Fenz followed that up with a tough lay up and Dewalt again knocked down another 3-point dagger from the corner.  After a made lay up by Dewalt, it was a 73-64 Chokers lead!  The Thunderbirds weren't going away easy as a free throw and back to back deep 3's cut the lead to 73-71. From there, once again, with 2:41 left on the clock, Dewalt all but closed the door on the Thunderbirds as he drained another 3 from the corner!  Down the stretch free throws were the name of the game as The Chokers were 8-8 from the line in the closing moments, sealing the victory 86-78!  

This was the final game for the Chokers and the best they played all year long!  Everyone is excited to see them build on this year and come out strong next season!
