Coached by the late Leo "Bud" Hake, the team won the first "official" State Championship. With a legendary goal-line stand, the team defeated Spokane 16-12 to win the title. The team set many individual and team records, including most offensive yards-3,994. Providing many exciting moments for Choker fans, the team came from behind to win in half of their ten games. The team finished with an 8-2 record and is considered one of the best teams in GHC football history.
